Upcoming plans…

Quite excited about the next few weeks! Website now all singing, all dancing, for a start, and a few interesting pieces of work in the pipeline…

I’ve been asked to design a tattoo for a friend of mine, to commerate her June wedding in Ibiza. Design topics to be avoided include ‘Danny + Nina 4ever’ – names never a good idea! But lovely to be involved in creating something that will hopefully stay with her forever.

A caricature is also in the pipeline, but can’t say too much in case the intended recipient reads this!

A new avenue for me is the road of corporate logo design, but one I’m happy to have a go at. My delicious website designer, Amanda Johnson (www.bellyforspots.com), has asked me to help her out coming up with a new design for the logo of her roller derby team, Rainy City Roller Girls. I’ll be honest, I didn’t have a clue what a roller derby was, but I’ve been doing my homework (www.rcrg.co.uk), and it looks like fun! A sure-fire stress release, if nothing else…watch this space for the end logo result, got a good few ideas swilling around…

Also, I REALLY need to get cracking on completing my own tattoo design. I have half of my upper arm done, but want it to go all the way round to make a half-sleeve, and I’m hoping to get chance to pop into Liverpool next week to make an appointment with the tattooist (combined with a visit to a couple of the city’s great galleries). I had a germ of an idea for a design today while I was comatose on the beautician’s bed, getting my eyelashes done – it’s amazing how much work I can get done with my eyes shut!! I’m thinking of a tongue-in-cheek, colourful homage to Elizabeth Taylor, with a pseudo-religious twist (the irony being that I’m not at all religious). Just hoping I can remember my ideas by the time I get round to putting pencil to paper.

Usually I have these fabulous brainwaves at 4 a.m., then completely forget them by the time I’ve woken up again…
